Credentials and background

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy New York University, 2021
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist CSCS, so rehab carries into training
  • Founder-led practice in Chantilly Care for patients across age groups

Who it’s for

Different starting points. The same question: what are you trying to get back to?

Amy works with patients across age groups, with a focus on orthopedics and sports medicine. If you recognise yourself below, the evaluation is the place to start.

Competitive athletes

In season, out of season, or working back toward a return-to-sport decision you can trust.

Adults who train

Lifting, running, cycling, court sports, or classes, and unwilling to stop for good.

Orthopedic concerns

Joint, muscle, and tendon problems that have outlasted rest and a wait-and-see approach.

Active families

Parents, weekend athletes, and student athletes looking for care from one familiar therapist.

Where care happens

A treatment table on the gym floor, not down a hallway.

Precision Performance Physio is based inside Cardinal CrossFit in Chantilly. That means the hands-on part of a session and the loaded part of a session happen in the same room.

It is easier to trust a plan when you have already tested it. If the goal is a squat, a carry, a sprint, or a return to a sport, the equipment to check your progress is a few steps away rather than something you find out about weeks later on your own.

  • Assessment, hands-on work, and loaded retesting in one visit
  • Exercise coaching in the environment you actually train in
  • Free parking directly outside the suite

How it works

Three steps from booking to a plan

Book online

Choose a time through the secure booking portal. It shows current availability and the appointment types on offer, so nothing depends on phone tag.

Get evaluated

Your first visit is an evaluation. Amy takes a history, watches you move, tests what needs testing, and explains what she finds in plain language.

Work the plan

You leave with a plan built around your goal, and each visit checks whether it is working so it can be adjusted rather than repeated.

Meet the founder

Dr. Amy Driessen, PT, DPT, CSCS, CDNS

Amy founded Precision Performance Physio to practise physical therapy the way she believes it works best: one therapist who knows your history, a plan that keeps moving forward, and a space where rehab and training are not two separate worlds.

She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from New York University in 2021, after a B.S. in Health Administration from George Mason University in 2015, and holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential. Her clinical interests are orthopedics and sports medicine, and she works with patients across age groups.

Away from the clinic she plays soccer, hikes, kayaks, cooks and bakes, reads, trains, and is not above losing a weekend to a Netflix series.

Common questions

The things people ask before booking

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Often not. Virginia’s direct access law allows a physical therapist who holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree to evaluate and treat without a physician’s referral in many circumstances, with notification to your physician within 14 days if you are already under their care for the same problem. Separately, your health plan may still require a referral in order to reimburse you. Ask when you book and Amy will tell you what applies to your situation.

What happens at the first appointment?

An evaluation. Amy takes your history, watches how you move, tests what the findings call for, and talks through what she sees and what she recommends. You should leave understanding the problem and what the plan is.

What should I wear or bring?

Clothing you can move in and that gives access to the area being treated. Shorts for a knee or hip, a tank or t-shirt for a shoulder. Bring training shoes. If you have imaging reports, a surgical protocol, or notes from another provider, bring those too.

Do you take insurance?

Precision Performance Physio is an out-of-network cash practice. You stay with the same physical therapist every visit — someone who can provide more individualized care, without the constraints of your insurance plan or the productivity standards common in insurance-based settings.

Some plans include out-of-network benefits that may cover our services. On request, we’ll provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance provider.
